Debugging Your Wireless Sensor

During installation, the sensor field of view can be reviewed to ensure the best coverage. Five black and white debug files are updated, one every 10 minutes for 50 minutes, upon powering a sensor.

If debug file does not load:

The following message will appear if the sensor is connected but the debug does not load:

Please reach out to VergeSense to confirm the sensor has the latest firmware.

If the debug does not update:

If the sensor is connected, it can be rebooted within the Installer Tool by selecting the "Reboot Sensor" button. This will initialize five more debugs, one every ten minutes. The latest debug file can be confirmed by viewing the timestamp at the bottom right of the screen.

The following procedure should be taken for a higher success rate of receiving debug images from sensors:

  1. Multiple sensors must not be rebooted simultaneously.

  2. Wait for 1 hour from the last sensor that you rebooted/deployed connected to the same gateway. This is to ensure that the network is not congested.

  3. Pick a sensor where an updated debug is required and reboot it.

  4. At this point, the sensor should try to send an image every 10 minutes.

  5. Once rebooted:

    1. If you receive the debug file, you can pick another sensor and repeat step 2.

    2. If the debug file does not update within 1 hour, reboot the same sensor. If debug file does not update after 2 reboot attempts - contact VergeSense for support (support@vergesense.com).
