Autodesk Tandem Webhook User Guide

Overview

This document outlines the required steps and reference details needed to verify that VergeSense data can be integrated with Autodesk Tandem. The content below summarizes webhook configuration, supported fields, payload formats, and the general workflow for mapping VergeSense space data into Tandem.

Configuring a Webhook

Webhooks can be configured using either:

  • VergeSense Dashboard UI
  • VergeSense Public API

Please see the following link for more details: https://vergesense.readme.io/reference/web-hooks

Custom Labels and Sensor Metadata

VergeSense devices are tied to spaces rather than individual sensors. At the moment, custom labels aren’t included in our webhook payloads. However, we do provide a customer-controlled field called space_ref_id. This field can be used to store an external identifier, such as the Tandem Stream ID for that space. Once this value is set, it allows VergeSense to send data to the correct location inside Autodesk Tandem.

Payload Format

VergeSense supports the following event payloads that Tandem can consume:

Both payloads provide space-level occupancy information, depending on the use case.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Below is the high-level process to make VergeSense data available within Autodesk Tandem. Additional alignment may be required depending on whether occupancy state or person count is being used.

  1. Within Tandem retrieve the information for the generic Webhook integration endpoint and authorization.

  2. Tandem will need to be configured to accept the person count / occupancy data from VergeSense. In order to do this a new parameter needs to be created and associated with the Facility.

  3. For each space you need to export the Stream ID which will be used to supply data for that space. The Stream ID for all spaces can be bulk exported using the Export Connection option.

  4. Within VergeSense use the Settings > Edit Floor view to update each space's "space_ref_id" field with the appropriate Stream ID.

  5. Within VergeSense create a new space report (or space availability report) and supply the URL and Authorization provided in Step 1. Ensure that at the end of the URL you specify ?idpath=space_ref_id

  6. Enable the webhook. Once this is done there is one more mapping step. Within the Configure connections modal you will need to map the JSON attribute of interest (say person_count) to the Person Count (as an example) attribute created previously. With this, VergeSense space data should be sent to Autodesk Tandem.

When all is configured, mapped, and sending data it will look like this within Tandem:
