Logitech Integration (Sync Cloud API)

The Logitech integration lets you feed room occupancy data from your existing Logitech video conferencing hardware into VergeSense, using equipment you already own. VergeSense checks the Logitech Sync Cloud API every 5 minutes for the number of people in each Logitech “place,” then treats those rooms exactly like rooms covered by native VergeSense sensors. Their data flows into your Usage Map, Reports, Space Usage Timeline, webhooks, and Live/Kiosk views, with no additional sensor hardware required.

Who it’s for

This integration is most useful if you’ve already deployed compatible Logitech Rally devices at scale (for example, on conference-heavy floors) but don’t have VergeSense sensors in those rooms. It extends occupancy intelligence and Predictive Planning into those spaces at no additional hardware cost. It is not intended for rooms that already have a VergeSense sensor; each room should have a single occupancy source rather than two competing data streams.

What you’ll need

Occupancy data from Logitech requires a subscription that provides access to Logitech Sync Insights, available to users with a paid Sync Plus or Logitech Select subscription.

Headcount is most reliable when your devices are in ALWAYS_ON mode, which is the default setting shipped with your devices. Devices that are not always on may sleep between meetings, and when they do, they report an occupancy count of 0 even if someone is in the room. Some devices, such as the Rally Bar Mini, do not support an always-on mode and report only during an active meeting.

Supported devices

The following Logitech devices are currently supported:

  • Rally Bar
  • Rally Bar Mini
  • Rally Camera*
  • Rally System*
  • MeetUp*
  • Rally Bar Huddle**
  • MeetUp 2**
  • Rallyboard 65
  • Spot

* For Insights data to be collected and reported, the Rally Camera, Rally System, and MeetUp require RightSight to be enabled with Dynamic mode.

** These devices support Sync Insights only during an active call. They do not support out-of-meeting Insights.

What you’ll provide to VergeSense

To connect the integration, you’ll provide four values from your Logitech Sync Portal:

Client certificateYour mTLS client certificate (PEM format). Pasted or uploaded, and encrypted at rest.
Private keyYour mTLS private key (PEM format). Pasted or uploaded, and encrypted at rest.
Organization IDYour Logitech organization ID (for example, a string like xTHRxQtYpxqqVKnA5aRvasd26s5SoFzT).
API server URLThe Sync Cloud API base URL, typically https://api.sync.logitech.com/v1.

Generating your certificate in Logitech Sync

  1. In the Logitech Sync Portal, go to System in the bottom-left menu.
  2. Select the Sync Cloud API tab.
  3. At the top, find the Sync API client certificates section. This is where you manage your certificates. Logitech allows only two certificates at a time. If you already have two active certificates, you’ll need to send us one of them along with its private key. Otherwise, generate a new certificate here to provide to VergeSense.
  4. When you generate a certificate, download both the client certificate and the private key. You’ll need both to complete the connection.

You can also find your Organization ID on this same System → Sync Cloud API tab.

Connecting Logitech in VergeSense

  1. In VergeSense, go to Settings → Integrations and find the Logitech card under the External Space Data section.
  2. Click Connect Logitech. In the Logitech Authentication dialog, paste or upload your client certificate and private key, enter your Organization ID and API server URL, then click Connect.
  3. After connecting, the integration settings show who connected it and when, your Organization ID and API server URL, a Last Sync time, and a Syncing toggle. VergeSense automatically pulls your Logitech devices on connect.
  4. Open the Space Mapping tab and select a building and floor. This tab becomes available once the first sync completes.
  5. On the floor’s Map Spaces view, connect each VergeSense space to its matching Logitech place. The Status column shows whether each space is Connected or Not Connected, and the Filters control lets you narrow the list to All, Connected, or Not Connected.
  6. Once a space is mapped, person counts begin flowing within the next 5-minute sync. To stop data from being imported at any time, use Disconnect Logitech in the integration settings.

Good to know

VergeSense polls Logitech every 5 minutes, so newly mapped rooms will show their first person count within a few minutes of mapping. Because reliable headcount depends on your devices staying awake, we recommend keeping devices in ALWAYS_ON mode wherever the model supports it. If a room consistently reports 0 occupancy, check that the device is always-on, that RightSight Dynamic mode is enabled where required, and that your Sync Insights subscription is active.
