Note: The L410 wireless sensor requires a gateway to connect.
Sensor Installation
VergeSense will grant access to the Installer Tool prior to the start of installation. You can access the tool at cloud.vergesense.com on mobile or desktop.
Physical Installation
- Locate the sensor on the map
- Match the orientation to the map
- Power the sensor on
Use Installer Tool to:
- Enter the Sensor ID
- Check connectivity
- Confirm coverage
- Publish
Locate The Sensor On Map
Use the Installer Tool to navigate the map.
Note: The plan is to scale; zoom in to view the exact sensor location (usually centered above a group of desks at the center of a room).
Mesh Network
- The L410 wireless sensor uses a mesh topology to create the network. Always begin with the sensors nearest the gateway. The sensors will connect to each other to create a mesh.
- The maximum distance between sensors is 40’
- The more sensors are installed, the faster they may connect.
Match Orientation on Map
It is important to match the orientation for proper coverage and data capture.
Power On
Power the sensor by holding the power button for 5 seconds. The LED will then power on.
When first booting up, the sensor will cycle - Red, Green, Blue (0.5s each color) 3 times. The LED will then flash green once every 15s for 5 minutes confirming connectivity.
Enter The Sensor ID
Every sensor has a unique ID that needs to be entered into the Installer Tool during installation. The sensor ID is located on the side of the sensor in the format “XXX-XXX”. See the example below:
Check Connectivity
Confirm Coverage
Once the sensor is connected, press Show Coverage Area to verify the desired space is being captured. In the Map View, the sensor’s field of view is represented by an orange rectangle, indicating the portion of the floorplan currently within coverage.
After confirming the coverage area via the View From Sensor tab, select Accept Coverage Area. Ensuring complete coverage of the area of interest is essential for maintaining data integrity.
It is important to only accept the coverage area when the entire space is captured; however, in some cases, sensors will be flagged as they require an adjustment. The sensor must be unflagged before coverage can be accepted.
Publish
Publish the sensor once it has successfully connected and coverage is confirmed. The sensor icon on the map will turn green indicating a successful installation.
Once a sensor is published, it will update the count in the Installer Tool.
Flagging and Adding Notes
The installer tool can be used to flag sensors with issues. This will bring attention to the device by changing the icon color to red.
After the issue has been resolved, please unflag and publish the sensor by navigating to the Notes tab, pressing the three-dots, select Clear Flag, and then press Publish in the bottom left.
Note: After an adjustment has been made, the sensor needs to be restarted to initiate a new commissioning file. Restarting will only update the commissioning file once.
Notes can be added within the Notes tab without flagging a sensor. This will create a note without changing the icon color.
Rotating and Moving a Sensor Icon
If adjustments require the sensor to be moved or rotated, the installer can update the sensor icon to match the installed position.
Note: You cannot delete or add a sensor here.
- Select a sensor
- Select Edit
- Select sensor icon
- Rotate or move as installed
- Confirm
